Details: Tablets seized by police in Winnipeg found to contain protonitazene. Green and round with markings APO OCD 80. Protonitazene is a new kind of synthetic opioid that is 3x more potent than fentanyl and can be toxic in very small amounts.
This is the first time protonitazene has been confirmed to be found in Winnipeg.
Tablets were seized by police in Winnipeg in September 2024. They were tested by Health Canada Drug Analysis Services.
