A substance sold as COCAINE was tested on the FTIR machine at MOPS this weekend. It contained no cocaine.

It did contain almost 40% synthetic opioid. It also contained 27% Hydrazine Monohydrochloride (extremely corrosive - toxic if swallowed and can be fatal with skin contact or if inhaled) and 18% Manganese Oxide (harmful if swallowed or inhaled).

FTIR Results:
38.8% Dspropionyl para-Chlorofentanyl
27.3% Hydrazine Monohydrochloride
17.8% Mangan(IV)-Oxide
8.1% L-Alanine
8.0% 2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-Acetyl-Beta-D-Glucopyranose

NOTE: When seasons change, there tends to be an uptick in drug toxicity events, and this fall is no exception. Please use extra caution when using substances and make sure you have naloxone on hand.
