This week, four different samples of substances sold as METH were tested on the FTIR machine at the Mobile Overdose Prevention Site.

All were mostly hazardous filler, some of which is listed as fatal if inhaled, ingested or in contact with skin.

Only two of the four samples contained actual meth/amphetamine (only 2% and 14%). The third sample contained no meth but 37% methadone, making it more risky for people who have no opioid tolerance. The fourth sample contained an anti-seizure drug and 8% sedative.

1: Contained 98% hazardous/harmful filler, only 2% amphetamine

2: Contained 86% hazardous filler, only 14% methamphetamine

3: Contained NO meth, 37% methadone (an opioid), 55% hazardous filler

4: Contained NO meth, 15% anti-seizure drug, 8% sedative and 45% toxic fillers including herbicide and fungicides
