Date: Thursday, November 28, 2024
Location: Tootinaowaziibeeng (Parkland Region)
Substance Sold As: Cocaine
Visual Description: White powder
White powder sold as cocaine caused two overdoses that required 10-12mg of naloxone to revive.
The fact that naloxone worked means that the substance contained an opioid. People who use stimulants such as cocaine aren’t likely to have a tolerance for opioids, increasing the risk of overdose
NOTE: When seasons change, there tends to be an uptick in drug toxicity events, and this fall is no exception. Please use extra caution when using substances and make sure you have naloxone on hand.
