Substance Sold As: Hydromorphone
Visual Description: Three-sided white pills with “DD” on one side and “8” on the other
White pills sold as hydromorphone found to contain nitazine, a high-potency synthetic opioid that is considered to be much stronger than fentanyl. Pills were white and three-sided, with “DD” and “8” markings.
Naloxone does work on nitazine but may require more doses than usual. Nitazine is difficult to detect through standard drug checking or strips.
Sample was tested at Street Connections and confirmed by Health Canada Drug Analysis Services to contain <1% N-Pyrrolidino Protonitazine.
