Purple chunk/pebble sold as DOWN was found to contain fentanyl and multiple types of benzodiazepine.

Benzodiazepines are sedatives that do not respond to naloxone. When combined with opioids such as fentanyl, they can increase the risk of complex overdose.

This sample was brought to Street Connections on May 16, 2025. Local testing was inconclusive, so it was sent to Health Canada Drug Analysis Services for further testing.
