Substance Sold As: Flualprazolam
Visual Description: Pink powder
Pink powder sold as flualprazolam was tested on the FTIR at Street Connections on February 13. It was found to contain medetomidine.
Flualprazolam is a benzodiazepine sedative, but the sample tested negative for benzos and fentanyl.
Medetomidine is a tranquilizer that is only approved for use on animals. It is stronger than xylazine.
This sample appeared to contain only medetomidine. Detection of medetomidine on FTIR suggests a high concentration of this substance in the sample.
Naloxone cannot reverse the sedating effects of non-opioid substances such as medetomidine.
